  • Mission Statement - The mission of the friends of Union Slough National Wildlife refuge is to support the environmental, educational and recreational activities and programs offered at the Refuge.  
  •  Goals -
    • To increase public awareness and appreciation of the Refuge
    • To encourage public participation in prairie-pothole preservation
    • To promote public use and enjoyment of the Refuge
  • Accomplishments -
    • Supported Swan Release Program
    • Assisted with the printing of the Iowa Great Lakes Recreational Map
    • Publish quarterly newsletters
    • Filming a Refuge video
    • Sponsor meals and events at International Migratory Bird Day and National Wildlife Refuge Week
    • Sponsor an exhibit at the Titonka Craft Show
    • Support environmentally friendly initiatives through local media
  • Membership Benefits - A membership in the "Friends" entitles you and/or your family access to special activities on the refuge, as well as the Friends newsletter.  Your membership is also tax deductible.
