- Mission Statement - The mission of the friends of Union Slough National Wildlife refuge is to support the environmental, educational and recreational activities and programs offered at the Refuge.
Goals - - To increase public awareness and appreciation of the Refuge
- To encourage public participation in prairie-pothole preservation
- To promote public use and enjoyment of the Refuge
- Accomplishments -
- Supported Swan Release Program
- Assisted with the printing of the Iowa Great Lakes Recreational Map
- Publish quarterly newsletters
- Filming a Refuge video
- Sponsor meals and events at International Migratory Bird Day and National Wildlife Refuge Week
- Sponsor an exhibit at the Titonka Craft Show
- Support environmentally friendly initiatives through local media
- Membership Benefits - A membership in the "Friends" entitles you and/or your family access to special activities on the refuge, as well as the Friends newsletter. Your membership is also tax deductible.
